Check the online Tunarama Programme for up to date competition times. Most registrations* open from 8:00am at the Information Booth on the day of the competition and close 30 minutes before the competition starts. Please note places are strictly limited, get in early to avoid disappointment.

The registration booth is located on the foreshore near the giant Tipi at the end of Bligh St.

Tuna Toss World Championships

Kid’s Olympics

9:00am Friday 27th January 2017

A series of events for kids from 3 to 13 years of age with prizes for all categories. This event will see a great amount of effort from youngsters, so come and cheer them on!

Westminster School Salmon Toss

Calling all 11- 15 year olds to come and have a go at being the Westminster School Salmon Toss Champion.

Boat Building Competition sponsored by  Bunnings Port Lincoln

8:00am Saturday 28th January 2017

Teams of two people will spend 2 hours crafting a boat to enter into a race just 4 short hours later. Some serious cash available along with some serious fun.

Drakes Foodland Slippery Pole Competition

3:00pm Thursday 26th January 2017

Test your grip and see how far you can slide along the slippery pole. Entrants 12 to 17 years. This unique locally-designed pole has a few tricks up its sleeve, it’s definitely not as easy as it looks. Those that make it to the end have to get back somehow, after they turn around that is.

Pier Hotel Keg Roll

5:30pm Thursday 26th January

Win some of the great prizes being offered by the Pier Hotel, or just come to watch others as they wind their way around this wobbly relay event. Those kegs don’t roll by themselves, it takes great skill!

Qantaslink Fireworks Draw

Be the child that starts the fireworks! For children aged between 5 and 12.

Beach Bod Comp

4:00pm Saturday 28th January

See the contestants strutting their stuff on the Festival Stage for great cash prizes. Free to enter and open to all over 18.

Spencer Gulf King Prawns – Prawn Toss

12:00pm Friday 27th January 2017

Calling all 5-10 year olds to come down to the Tuna Toss Area and have a go at being the Prawn Tossing Champion.

Spencer Gulf King Prawns – Prawn Peeling Competition

Entrants will be presenting their peeled prawns to a judge before consuming them. Can you “do” a nice prawn?

Watermelon Eating Competition

Peter Teakle Sail Past ‘Best Dressed Day Boat’ & ‘Best Lit Night Boat’

All commercial and pleasure craft are invited to take part in the sail past with two $500 prizes awarded to the Best Dressed Vessel & Best Lit Vessel in either category – Commercial or Pleasure

The swim follows the beach from the Town Jetty to the Yacht Club and back over 1000 metres. Categories for male and female juniors, open, masters, and legends.

Triple Sprint Triathlon

9:00am Sunday 29th January 2017, Laguna Drive

Participants can enter one, two or three lap events or part of a team over three laps. Each lap consists of a 250 metre swim. 7km cycle and 2km run.
