7:00am – 10:00am City of Port Lincoln Citizens Breakfast

The City of Port Lincoln and 765-5CC host the annual Australia Day Breakfast at the Tunarama Festival. Be served a hearty breakfast by Councillors as prepared by Dragons Abreast Port Lincoln volunteers. This free breakfast includes entertainment by the Ethnic Cowboys, Port Lincoln City Band, Port Lincoln Singers and Sing Australia. Event Poster

10:00am Australia Day Celebration Ceremony

Join us in celebrating this tradition of welcoming new citizens and honoring local citizens for their achievements this past year. Includes Flag Raising Ceremony presentations of the Australia Day Citizen Award, Australia Day Young Citizen Award and The Community Event of the Year Award.

12:30pm – Tunarama Official Opening, Eyre Square

Welcome to the opening of the 2017 Port Lincoln Tunarama Festival! Held in Eyre Square the new Food, Wine and local produce concept for the Tunarama Festival. Eyre Square is a showcase of the best produce from our region. The square will be located on the Port Lincoln foreshore grass overlooking the stunning Boston bay. Features Welcome To Country and performances from local and international artists

8:30pm Open Eyre Film Festival presented by Chevron

Budding film makers from all over Eyre Peninsula have come together to design and produce short films themed about the sea and the beautiful coastline that surrounds our region. Open to ages from 10-18years and 18+, film makers have produced 3-5 minute films that will be shown on the big screen on Australia day evening. Watch Eyre Square be transformed in to an open air cinema. Come and enjoy a bite to eat of locally caught seafood and a glass of wine and sit back and let us entertain you with our local talent.

Screen starts at 8:30pm in Eyre Square.

7pm – Steakarama

STEAKARAMA is on again this Tunarama Friday 27th Jan at the Hotel Boston. Get your tickets now, just $30 each a great gift for local music lovers. Grammy nominated Filthy Lucre will be rocking the Tunarama Festival, along with local legend Luke Morris, The Tits, surf rock crew the El Camino’s and Port Lincoln’s very own Eli!

Street Procession Tunarama

12pm – Port Lincoln Community Bank Street Procession

One of the highlights of the Festival and an event not to miss – The Port Lincoln community go to great lengths decorating themselves and their floats to showcase the many local business and community groups that flourish here. It is always colourful and fun, and often very professional as entrants vie for best float. This year will include some floats from  community arts, sporting clubs and local business groups. Streets are closed between 11.30 and 1.30, so find that special spot, settle down and enjoy the entertainment; and kids: watch out for lollies and water guns! Parade starts at Mortlock Tce at 12noon reaches the Civic Centre at 1.00pm, and winds up at the Port Lincoln Primary School at 1:00pm

2pm – Tuna Toss Finals

One of the highlights of the Festival and an event not to miss  – the World Championship Tuna Toss finds competitors traveling from around the globe to see who can throw these 10Kg fish the farthest. Fish do Fly!! With big cash rewards and a unique trophy, this is one item for anyone’s bucket list. Held in the Tuna Toss arena. Entries are free but strictly limited places so get your registrations in early at the registration booth on the foreshore.

6:30pm – Rockarama Dinner & Dance

4 piece teddy boy band ‘The Lincoln’s’ play a mix of high energy rock n roll and rockabilly classics. Dressed to suit, these boys punch your favourite songs out with the same enthusiasm, style and energy as they were played in the fabulous fifties! – guaranteed to get your toes tapping

9:30pm – Qantaslink Fireworks

The Fireworks display is set to go OFF THE RICHTER! A crowd pleaser for sure – head on down to the beach and watch the sky come alive near the town jetty for the fantastic fireworks display. Simply spectacular and explosive fun for all ages

Amazing Drumming Monkeys

This is an adorable little variety show aimed at 1 – 8 yr olds, and is also great entertainment for all ages. The 2 monkey puppets (Bongo & Congo) play African drums, lead audiences in songs & dances, perform magic tricks and (low tech) special effects gags etc. The show also features beautiful positive messages, such as caring for our environment, and getting along with each other.

The Monkeys appeal to a great range of people, places, and events. The show has cute & funny monkeys for the kids, great drumming for the adults, variety segments for all ages, and a message for the world. Please check the Entertainment page for performance times.

Circus Elements

Roving Entertainment – Special Unicycle Patrol

Severe budget cuts to the Police Force have halved the bicycle unit. An officer will be on the lookout for the flimsiest excuse to issue a fine to old and young alike and will leave their subjects flabbergasted in disbelief at the new police laws

Roving Entertainment –  Chefs on Stilts

Let Boris Borsch tempt your palate. He cooks anything, anywhere, anytime. Keep your children in your sights at all times – it’s Spicey!

 

 

Circus Workshops

This is a come and play session with a highly skilled circus teacher on hand. Circus props that will be set out are: juggling balls, spinning plates, flower sticks, balance sticks, hand held stilts and hula hoops
