Check the online Tunarama Programme for up to date competition times. Most registrations open from 8:00am at the Information Booth on the day of the competition and close 30 minutes before the competition starts. Please note places are strictly limited, get in early to avoid disappointment.

Tuna Toss World Championships

Proudly sposored by Port Lincoln Community Bank, the highlight of the Festival is the famous Tuna Toss competition. ‘Have a go’ at tossing a Tuna for your chance to win the Tuna Toss World Championship. Competitors travel from around the globe to see who can throw these 10Kg fish the farthest. With big cash rewards and a unique trophy, this is one item for anyone’s bucket list. Held in the Tuna Toss arena. Entries are free but strictly limited places so get your registrations in early at the registration booth on the foreshore.

Bunning’s Boat Building Competition

Teams of two people will spend 2 hours crafting a boat to enter into a race just 4 short hours later. Some serious prizes

available along with some serious fun. All equipment provided, proudly sponsored by Bunnings Port Lincoln

EP Surf Beach Bod Comp

An exciting new format with EP Surf! See the contestants strutting their stuff on the ASBTIA Festival Stage for great cash prizes. Free to enter and open to all over 18.  Information Poster

Qantaslink Fireworks Draw

Be the child that starts the fireworks! For children aged between 5 and 12. Fill in an entry form for your chance to start this incredible display!

DK Quarries Kid’s Olympics

A series of events for kids from 3 to 13 years of age with prizes for all categories. This event will see a great amount of effort from youngsters, so come and cheer them on!

Keg Roll

Win some of the great prizes , or just come to watch others as they wind their way around this wobbly relay event. Those kegs don’t roll by themselves, it takes great skill!

Spencer Gulf King Prawns – Prawn Peeling Competition

Entrants will be presenting their peeled prawns to a judge before consuming them. Can you “do” a nice prawn?

Calling all 5-10 year olds to come down to the Tuna Toss Area and have a go at being the Prawn Tossing Champion.

AUS Foods Alliance Salmon Toss

Calling all 11- 15 year olds to come and have a go at being the AUS Foods Alliance Salmon Toss Champion. The Salmon Toss is set to be a competitive event, these kids may come back to be our future Tuna Toss world champions!

Strictly Limited entries. Participants must register at the Information Booth before 10:00am on the day, and be available for the finals on Saturday to qualify.

Peter Teakle Sail Past ‘Best Dressed Day Boat’ & ‘Best Lit Night Boat’

All commercial and pleasure craft are invited to take part in the sail past with two $500 prizes awarded to the Best Dressed Vessel & Best Lit Vessel in either category – Commercial or Pleasure

Register your boat with Peter Teakle at the Marina before the event to be in the running.

Chevron Sand Sculpture Competition

Two hours to create your own masterpiece on the beach. Bring your own bucket, spade and artistic creativity for your chance to win great cash prizes. Kids or family categories

Drake’s Foodland Slippery Pole Competition

Test your grip and see how far you can slide along the slippery pole. Entrants 12 to 17 years. This unique locally-designed pole has a few tricks up its sleeve, it’s definitely not as easy as it looks. Those that make it to the end have to get back somehow, after they turn around that is.

Swim Thru

The swim follows the beach from the Town Jetty to the Yacht Club and back over 1000 metres. Categories for male and female juniors, open, masters, and legends.

 

Harvey Norman Tug ‘O’ War

Teams of eight can compete to win great prizes. Plus find out who from the local Emergency Services keeps themselves the strongest and fittest – Police, Ambulance, or SES? – head to the foreshore opposite the Tasman Hotel. The winners can then get their best anchor-man and take on the STRONGMEN…not to be missed!

Drakes Foodland Watermelon Eating Competition

What a great opportunity to enjoy some juicy watermelon! Kneel in front of a slice of watermelon with both hands behind your back ..and eat! Entrants must be aged between 6 and 14 years.  Limited Entry. Proudly Supported by Drakes Foodland
