Elly Schultz

Hi, my name is Elly Schultz. I am 20 years old. I have lived in Port Lincoln for my whole life,  This has given me many opportunities; one is being able to share my knowledge and love of the region with tourists through my employment at the Visitor Information Centre, who are also my sponsors for the Tunarama Quest.

I attended the Port Lincoln Primary School and the Port Lincoln High School. My fondest memories of growing up here are spending time with my family, on our boat, fishing and swimming with our friendly seals, these are world class experiences and are right on our door step. I am very passionate about our local environment and my dream job is to work for National Parks. I feel fortunate to be currently working in the local National Parks office, helping the threatened species team.

I entered the Tunarama Ambassador Quest because it is a great opportunity to give something back to the local community and support a local charity.  I have chosen to raise money for the local cancer patients at the Port Lincoln Hospital.  I personally, along with my colleagues, have been touched by cancer in one way or another. I hope the money raised will improve the hospital’s cancer treatment facilities.

I am very lucky to have a huge support committee, my family, friends, work mates and everyone I have talked to, all congratulate me and all offer a helping hand. It really makes me proud to be a part of the Quest and it is exciting meeting new people.

I look forward to seeing you all at my fundraising events throughout the year and at the Tunarama Festival in 2011.
