First of all I would like to thank Geoff and Kathy Nottle – the owners of Eyre Travel who are sponsoring me. I very much appreciate their time and input.

Also, thankyou Linda and Volunteers from Community House, My fundraising committee, Tunarama committee, My family and my boyfriend, Ethan.

I was born and raised here in beautiful Port Lincoln and most of my family live here or on the far west’ traditional aboriginal lands. I went to school in Port Lincoln and also in other states, due to having family all over Australia.

After school I felt lost in my life and started heading down the wrong track…. until I got my first job at Southern Ocean Express. I have learnt many skills and values there, which have passed over into my personal life. I feel I have improved and developed into a person who now is much better equipped to undertake this journey.

Many thanks to Gavin Myers… his work Crew… and his family.

I have joined the Tunarama Quest, as I have a quiet personality and jumped at the chance to be able to grow from this experience. I always get really nervous speaking in public and have avoided doing this my whole life. I have decided I would like to challenge myself and also be a role model to many other young girls….who… just like me, don’t have the courage to speak out in public.

This quest will be really hard for me… But with the great group I have supporting me, I know I will be able carry on, and grow in confidence. Having the support of others will make my time in Tunarama much easier and lots of fun.

I look forward to becoming friends with all the other entrants Jodi, Jess, Isabel and Lain and joining in on some fun activities together.

I am raising money for Community House, as I know this is a place that opens its doors to all people in the community.  It has always welcomed me and my family with open arms and the community is a better place with it. If it wasn’t for the support of Community House , I feel I would never have had this opportunity to be standing before you here tonight.

And finally,

I am filled with such an excitement about my own growth, and at the same time, feel privileged to be able to give back to our wonderful town, Port Lincoln,

Thank you
