Sara Bennett

Hello, my name is Sara Bennett. I am 18 years old and I am from Kalgoorlie Western Australia.

Its an honor to be in the Tunarama Ambassador quest sponsored by Dempsey’s saddlery and feed supplies. I am raising much needed funds for the RSPCA an organization that is very close to my heart.

I came to Port Lincoln in 2017, two days before the Tunarama Festival. It was amazing being welcomed to this beautiful town with a wonderful festival right on the foreshore. I had a wonderful time learning about my new home, and what the Tunarama Festival is all about.

I have chosen the RSPCA as my charity to raise funds for, as I have always looked up to them for the great things that they do for animals in need. When I was a young girl I would watch their TV show ”RSPCA Animal Rescue” whenever I had the chance. I was amazed by the huge efforts and phenomenal level of care that they put into helping wild and domesticated animals return to their normal lives or better ones after treatment. I had decided then that my dream goal was to become a veterinarian one day and assist in the well being of animals just like the RSPCA does.

I am currently a registered volunteer with the RSPCA here in Port Lincoln. I have learnt a lot from the wonderful team and I have many great experiences at the shelter, the best ones are seeing our beloved cats and kittens get adopted out to wonderful families who will continue to look after them for the rest of their life. I am very passionate about the treatment and care of animals and at the shelter its truly amazing to see how loved each cat and kitten is and how well they are treated before and after adoption. The lovely ladies ensure all cats are family ready, kitty litter tray trained and full of love ready for their new owners.

I chose the join the Tunarama Ambassador Quest to learn more about the beautiful town I call my home, to give back to the RSPCA for their support and to hopefully make long lasting friendships with my fellow entrants. I would like to thank Marcia and Leith from Dempsey’s Saddlery and Feed Supplies for supporting me and allowing me to take this journey, everyone who has supported me and of course the RSPCA team. I am incredibly excited to see what this year has in store for us all and I wish my fellow entrants the best of luck.
